I recently had a chance to check out this video of Jim & Elena (the authors of Children Learning Reading) and according to them a parent which pays no more than 5 to 10 minutes attention per day to their child can actually teach the child to read at the age of 3.
See for yourself. This video is from before she was 3.
Well, if you have ever seen a baby genius then this must be one, right? Or maybe they really can do what they say they can do?
I proceeded to the next video and they got me. She is not even 3 and a half and reads as good as I could when I was about 7. That is truly amazing.
What would it take to have our kids to read like this at that same age? Jim & Elena say it might only take 12 weeks.
Even if it took a year, wouldn’t you be willing to invest time into your child and get back (as Jim & Elena say) “The spillover effects of learning to read and developing literacy skills are clear: enhanced intellectual development, greater imagination, superior communication and social skills, vastly enriched vocabulary, and a true love of books and reading.”
Motivating children and guiding parents how to play with kids is my passion. The skill of Reading opens an enormous amount of possibilities to your child. If you are serious about your child’s development then I will be serious with you. You want to check this out.
